Ever been to Www.doom rider.com or Funnylishus and played Doom Rider? Doom rider is a game where you race through the depths of hell. The description claims that �You gotta love the style of this dark and seedy driving game.� I however wasn�t very fond of it. Before my first attempt at playing the game, I thought that the might be similar to �New Gran Turismo Motorcycle Game� which is a personal favorite. I read the controls as well. They weren�t realistic to riding a real motorcycle, but were simple enough. I clicked the start button hoping that this game would be quite enjoyable. I was mislead�
While the count of 3 flashed over the screen, I skimmed over graphics. They were very poor and it seemed as ANYONE with the right technology could have created this game. That�s the creator�s idea of hell? It honestly reminds me of on of those haunted house rides at the circus. It didn�t seem like the creators put much effort into the animation. I pressed the UP arrow key to drive forward. The ironic thing is as soon as you press up, you start out going fast (about 30 mph) and stay the same speed at all times, unless you get off road or collide with another biker. Turning is very annoying as well. The camera tilts with your bike when you press either side arrows. Another annoying thing is how only one song continuously plays throughout the game. There Is no options button here you can adjust volume or quality.
My first attempt I did not win. I hit the play again button, and it brought me straight to the beginning. The sponsor popped up and it then brought me directly to the title menu. I did not WANT to go to the title menu, I just wanted to race again. Every time you lose, it will show the sponsor and then direct you to the title menu, instead of automatically bringing you to the race beginning. I am a very impatient person J, so this annoyed me quite a lot. On my third try I successfully completed the first round. Guess what, that was the game! One round of racing and then they sow your results (your score) and that�s it. You can�t even submit or view others scores. This game has terrible written all over it.
Having played it a lot I award it 8 stars out of 10.
